SUPPORT FOR INVESTMENTS

Regional investment aid is one of forms of governmental assistance provided to businessmen main aim of which is to support the economic development in the most disadvantaged areas of Slovakia and to reduce existing regional differences. Providing regional investment aid is to motivate domestic as well as international investors to realise significant initial investments, expansions of existing businesses or to create long-term sustainable jobs.

The support of MoE SR can be provided to projects in three categories: industrial production, technological centres and strategic service centres.

Any business entity registered in Slovakia can apply for investment aid if its investment aim meets the general conditions set by the Act on Investment Aid. The investment aim must successfully pass the process of investment aid evaluation and approval. There is no legal title to the provision of investment aid.

Forms of investment aid:

·       Subsidy for acquiring fixed tangible assets and fixed non-tangible assets;

·       Income tax allowance;

·       Contribution to creating a new job;
