
The Slovak government approved an amendment to the Energy Act and adjustments to related laws, submitted by the Ministry of Economy.
On 7 May 2025, the Government of the Slovak Republic approved a draft law amending the Energy Act and other related laws. The Ministry of Economy submitted the proposal to ensure the transposition and implementation of several new European Union legislative requirements, including electricity market reform, the gas directive, and the development of renewable energy sources.

Saková: We support industry that creates jobs and drives exports – Žarnovica receives an investment boost.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic, Denisa Saková, today submitted a proposal to the government to provide investment aid to Neuman Aluminium Fliesspresswerk Slovakia, s.r.o. The investment aid, amounting to €1.1 million in the form of an income tax relief, will support the expansion of production capacities in Žarnovica.

People in Humenné will not lose their jobs and do not need to worry about heating in their homes.
The supply of heating and hot water to the city of Humenne, after complex negotiations, the supply of all energy services to the industrial park—is being taken over by the state-owned company MH Teplárenský holding and its subsidiaries. This ensures not only heating and hot water for over 30,000 residents in the city but also jobs for more than 1,500 employees in the Chemes industrial park.

The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic announces that, effective April 2, 2025, the Secretariat of the Government Council of the Slovak Republic for Competitiveness and Productivity (RVKP) has been taken over by the Institute for Strategic Analyses (ISA) of the Government Office. Changes to the RVKP Statute were approved on April 23, 2025, with the aim of unifying and strengthening the state’s analytical and coordination capacities.
