The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic is preparing an automated system of targeted energy assistance, for this purpose it interconnects existing data and registers
The Ministry of Economy (MH) is continuing to prepare targeted assistance for citizens affected by high energy prices. The ministry's aim is to ensure that assistance reaches households in need efficiently and quickly, without the need for unnecessary administrative processes or visits to authorities. To this end, the ministry is developing an automated system that will utilise existing register data and information.
„Our priority is to ensure that assistance in the context of high energy prices is fast, targeted and effective while burdening people with bureaucracy as little as possible. I would like to emphasise that we are not going to scrutinise the citizens of Slovakia. On the contrary, we are using existing data from state IT registers, which will enable us to deliver aid in a targeted manner without the need for additional paperwork, while ensuring the highest level of data protection," said Denisa Saková, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic.
In order to consolidate public finances, energy price assistance will no longer be paid to everyone in Slovakia in future, but will be assessed individually for each household according to their needs. To this end, the state intends to utilise existing registers and develop an automated IT system from the available data, which will be essential for the payment of energy assistance next year.
Citizens who do not agree with the use of information held in various state IT registers for this purpose may submit their disagreement in the form of a self-signed notification in accordance with the provisions of Section 3(6) of Act No. 71/2025 Coll. The form is available for download here: https://www.mhsr.sk/verejnost/formular-oznamenie-nesuhlasu-v-sulade-s-ustanovenim-3-ods-6/. This notification must be submitted in paper form by 30 April 2025 at the latest (inclusive) to:
Ministerstvo hospodárstva SR
Oddelenie výkonu mimoriadnych opatrení
Mlynské nivy 44/A,
827 15 Bratislava 212
Alternatively, in case of activated electronic signature, citizens can also use electronic submission via the central portal of public administration www.slovensko.sk - via the function "General agenda", selecting the "Ministry of Economy of the SR" as the service provider.
At the same time, the Ministry of Economy would like to point out that it does not take into account any other means of notification delivery than those mentioned above.
Disbursement of energy price assistance for next year will be decided solely on the basis of a separate law on targeted energy assistance, which the Ministry of Economy is preparing.
