The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic supports the strategic investment project of a new modern power station in Ladce, it will contribute to the energy security of Slovakia

The Ministry of Economy (MH) of the Slovak Republic has proposed including the investment project „Transformation of 400/110 kV ESt Ladce“, which aims to modernise the Slovak Republic's transmission system, among strategic investments. Submitted by Slovak Electricity Transmission System, a.s. (SEPS), this project will play a key role in ensuring the stability and efficiency of the country's energy infrastructure. The project involves constructing a new, modern, remote-controlled power station in Ladce to replace the obsolete Považská Bystrica power station, and to transform electricity from the higher 400 kV voltage level to the lower 110 kV level. Construction of the station in the Horovce area of the Púchov district will ensure stable power transmission and strengthen the Slovak Republic's transmission system.

„This project is an important step towards strengthening Slovakia's energy security. Investing in the modernisation of the transmission system will improve the efficiency of energy distribution, which will have a positive impact on our economy and energy infrastructure," said Denisa Saková, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic, after the meeting.

The project, which has a total investment expenditure of almost €85 million, will be implemented over the coming years. Preparations for the project began in 2022, with construction scheduled to start in 2026 and commissioning planned for 2029. The new power station is part of the modernisation of the energy infrastructure, which is important for Slovakia's overall development.

The "Transformation of 400/110 kV ESt Ladce" project is an example of a strategic investment that supports the development of energy infrastructure and ensures the sustainable growth of the Slovak economy.
