New investments worth tens of millions of euros in the Košice Region will create hundreds of new jobs and high-value-added manufacturing
At its off-site meeting today, Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the Slovak Government approved, on the proposal of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, investment aid exceeding EUR 28 million for GreenPharm s. r. o. and Unomedical s.r.o.. The investments will create nearly 300 new jobs in the Košice Region while expanding production capacity and introducing modern, high-value-added technologies. The aid will be provided exclusively in the form of an income tax credit.
“The Košice Region is becoming one of Slovakia’s most attractive destinations for investors, with growing investment, expanding production capacity, and the creation of high-quality jobs with high added value. I am very pleased that we are continuing to attract new investments to eastern Slovakia, not only in industry but also in modern sectors such as pharmaceutical manufacturing and healthcare technologies. Diversifying the economy and supporting innovative manufacturing are essential to ensuring the long-term stability and competitiveness of the region,” said Denisa Saková, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic.
Investment aid for GreenPharm s. r. o. will amount to more than EUR 4 million. The Slovak company, based in Veľká Ida in the Košice-okolie District, specializes in the production of dietary supplements, liquid vitamin drinks, and collagen beverages. The investment project aims to expand the capacity of the company’s existing production facility for dietary supplements while broadening its product portfolio to include liquid vitamin and collagen beverages.
The aid will be provided in the form of an income tax credit, and the company will create 60 new jobs. The Košice-okolie District is also one of the priority districts eligible for support under the Just Transition Fund.
Investment aid amounting to EUR 24.1 million was approved for Unomedical s.r.o. Headquartered in Michalovce, the company manufactures medical devices, including catheters, urine bags, ostomy products, and continence care products. The investment project aims to diversify the existing medical device manufacturing facility by introducing the production of infusion sets for patients with diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, chronic pain, and primary immunodeficiency. As part of the project, the company will invest in new production technologies and create 221 new jobs.
The entire output of the facility will be destined for export markets. As with the previous project, the investment aid will be provided in the form of an income tax credit.
The approved investment projects will contribute to the development of industrial production in the Košice Region, strengthen the export performance of Slovak companies, diversify manufacturing, and create new employment opportunities in the region.
