Issuance of vouchers within the Green Households project starts

The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic together with the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA) is launching the activation and issuance of vouchers from the Green Households project to support the installation of equipment for the use of renewable energy sources - biomass boilers, heat pumps, solar collectors, photovoltaic panels or wind turbines. The activation will take place in stages. As a first step, contractors will be able to activate applications for biomass boilers and solar collectors from tomorrow, 16 July 2024, at 11:00 am. Vouchers for activated applications will be issued the following day.

At the same time, the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic adjusted the allocated budget for the Bratislava region in order to make it more balanced according to the number of inhabitants of individual regions. At present, EUR 14.2 million is allocated for households in the Bratislava region, while more than 1,700 applications from this region are currently registered in the information system, with a total value of EUR 4.7 million. From other regions, for which a total of EUR 93.5 million is allocated, SIEA has registered almost 13 500 applications with a total value of EUR 38.8 million.

"We have managed to adjust the budget for Green Households in a very short time to ensure a fair distribution between regions. We have adjusted the amount for households in the Bratislava region, the money will be distributed more evenly according to the number of inhabitants. We can now start issuing vouchers, which will be reimbursed on a rolling basis, depending on when the contractors submit their reimbursement claims with full documentation. There is enough money, at this stage every household that completes the installation in accordance with the conditions will receive a subsidy," said Denisa Saková, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic.

The SIEA will then issue vouchers on a weekly basis, every Tuesday at 11:00. Biomass boilers and solar collectors will be followed by heat pumps, for which activation will start on Monday 22 July 2024 (issue on 23 July 2024), and photovoltaic panels and wind turbines on Monday 29 July 2024 (issue on 30 July 2024).

On the website www.zelenadomacnostiam.sk, applicants can also find a new video guide on how to fill in the application form, recommendations on how to conclude a contract with a contractor and a practical overview of the obligations for photovoltaic installations. If you have any questions, support is also available on a Freephone 0800 199 399. SIEA is also preparing a webinar to be held on 25 July 2024 at 10.00am.

In the third quarter of 2024, the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency plan to launch a new project called Green Solidarity, under which low-income households will be able to receive vouchers with up to 90% support for the installation of biomass boilers, solar collectors and photovoltaic panels. A budget of €30 million has been allocated to this project. Households can use the calculator today to see if they qualify for the higher grants. If their income does not exceed the set amount, the Department of Economic Affairs recommends waiting to activate the vouchers issued under the Green Households project. Once the new Green Solidarity project is launched, they will be able to confirm in an online application that they meet the conditions of this project and the value of the voucher will be automatically adjusted to a more favorable one.
