„I realize that our businesses have gone through really hard times and previous turbulent election term did not, also, make it any easier for them. Under my leadership, the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic will collaborate with the businesses and as well, with the regulator in order to ensure fair energy prices not only for the households, but for the business sector, too. Therefore, we need an energetically strong Slovakia with sufficient sources, not only for the contemporary consumption, but also for the future,” said the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic Denisa Saková.

In the introduction, the representatives of the RÚZ reminded of the challenges Slovak businesses were facing at the previous turbulent election term and also during COVID-19, energy or inflation crises. An important economic topic was, particularly, the regulation of the energy market with a view to contributing to maintaining the competitiveness of the Slovak industry, as well as setting the regulated tariffs and charges for electricity supply for industrial consumers.

Besides discussing the regulation with the business sector representatives, Denisa Saková addressed, as well, the need for investments into new energy sources, along with the future direction of the Energy Policy of the Slovak Republic. Other debated items were the European Union Climate Legislative Acts and their impacts on Slovakia or also the EIA amendments necessary for removing the obstacles in order to build new energy sources. Last but not least, ensuring the level playing field for the protection of trade and businesses and defending the interests and protection of the Slovak industry at the European Union were discussed as well.

Members in the National Union of Employers create together almost 230.000 jobs across Slovakia. They are represented in all sector of national economy including heavy industry, transport, health sector, IT, trade and services or the sector of HoReCA.
